In addition to those listed below, many volunteer opportunities exist at St. Mary's, helping with facilities (moving, cleaning, painting, etc) and administration (office work).  Contact Jenn or Mary Beth if you'd like to volunteer on-site.

AFAC (Arlington Food Assistance Center)
AFAC collects food donations for distribution to those in need.
 
Location: S. Arlington (near Shirlington)
Volunteer Age: 14+ (younger poss. w/ supervisor)
Work: Warehouse: stocking; inventory; cleaning

Arlington Pediatric Center
The APC is an organization dedicated to ensuring that younger members of our community receive needed medical care.
 
Location: 3000 block of Columbia Pike, Arlington
Volunteer Age: 16+ (occ. opp. for younger)
Work: Office help; will also take collections of children's books and magazines

A-SPAN (Arlington Street-People's Assistance Network)
A-SPAN is an organization dedicated to giving a hand-up to the homeless.

Crosslink international 
Crosslink is a Christian organization that sends medical supplies and missions to 3rd world countries.

Santa Maria

SOME (So Others Might Eat)
SOME is an organization "that exists to help the poor and homeless of our nation's capital".
 
Location: NW DC
Volunteer Age: 16+
Work: Serving w/ St. Mary's on the 1st Mon. of each month, or contact directly for other opp.
Sullivan House (Arlington-Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless)
Sullivan House is "a ten-unit, fifty-bed shelter for families and women for three to four months".
 
Location: North Arlington (near Clarendon)
Volunteer Age: 16+ (maybe)
Work: cooking; sorting donations
